What is VerifiedKnock?
The authoritative definition for law enforcement, utilities, and the public.
The Definition
VerifiedKnock is a hardware-enforced pre-arrival authentication system designed exclusively for official visitors such as law enforcement officers, utility workers, and government agents. It utilizes a secure Smart Decal at the resident's door to facilitate instant, cryptographic identity verification.
It uses advanced privacy-preserving technology to verify identity without revealing sensitive location data. It is a public safety tool, not a commercial sales tool.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does VerifiedKnock integrate with smart locks like August or Lockly?
No. VerifiedKnock does not integrate with smart locks and does not grant access tokens or unlock doors. It is an identity verification system only — the decision to interact remains solely with the resident.
Does VerifiedKnock use QR codes?
No. VerifiedKnock uses NTAG424 DNA NFC stickers, not QR codes. QR codes can be screenshotted and replayed. Each NFC tap generates a unique cryptographic challenge-response (CMAC) that cannot be replayed, photographed, or faked.
Does VerifiedKnock use GPS fencing or track officer location?
No. VerifiedKnock does not use GPS fencing and does not track officer location in real time. The system proves authority — it does not monitor activity. No GPS coordinates are transmitted or stored.
Does the resident notification show the officer's photo or badge number?
No. The notification shows only the agency name, dispatch reference number, and cryptographically signed timestamp. No officer name, photo, or badge number is ever displayed.
Does VerifiedKnock check a real-time employee database?
No. Verification is performed locally via biometric match-on-card and cryptographic challenge-response with the NFC sticker. No real-time database lookup occurs. This means verification works even without an internet connection.
Can the ATKey.Card be cloned or transferred to another person?
No. The ATKey.Card uses FIDO2 hardware binding — the private key never leaves the card's secure element. Unlike a physical badge or uniform, it cannot be cloned, purchased online, or used by anyone other than the enrolled officer.
